The New 2023 Toyota Camry Specifications

Overview

Although SUVs have been gaining popularity in recent years, the Camry has still managed to remain at the top of the sales charts for passenger cars. The Camry is a mainstay of the midsize sedan segment and has continued to be number one selling car for twenty years now.

The Toyota Camry is well-known to be reliable, and it offers a hybridized version that has amazing fuel economy. The current generation of the Camry is also trendy, especially when customers have the option to add the Nightshade package—which includes bronze wheels for 2023—or choose the sporty-looking TRD trim.

The Camry's rivals, such as the Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata have all switched to four-cylinder lineups; however, Toyota's midsize sedan still offers an optional 301-hp V-6. It isn't a very exciting car to drive, but it more than makes up for that with its safety features, economical engines and spacious interior - making it a competent daily driver that is easy to live with.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The average four-cylinder engine is teamed up with a sleek eight-speed automatic, but its acceleration numbers don't meet expectations. A less powerful version of that engine powers the Camry hybrid along with a battery and two electric motors; however, this car isn't any more exciting to drive than the basic powertrain edition.

The most amazing part of this lineup is the 301-hp V-6 that you can get on the XLE and XSE models as well as the TRD variant. We're also excited to say that we no longer despise driving the Camry. It has a smooth ride and surprisingly agile handling.

The steering wheel is the perfect weight- not too light or difficult to turn. When we drove it around corners, we could feel how sturdy the car was but when parking and having to move slowly, the Camry's steering made it a piece of cake. The brakes were also super responsive which is important for a family car like this one!

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

The Camry four-cylinder model not only aced the EPA's tests but also performed excellently in our real-world highway testing. The LE and SE models with thefour-cylinder engine are the most efficient nonhybrid models; they earned EPA estimates of 28 mpg city and 39 mpg highway. The base LE hybrid, onthe other hand, scored ratings of 51 mpg city and 53 mpg highway.

The luxury models of the hybrid use more fuel, but those with a V-6 get 22 mpg in the city and up to 33 mpg on highways. In our tests, the four-cylinder Camry SE got 45 mpg on highways--beating its EPA rating by 6mpg! It even did 1 mpg better than the XLE camry Hybrid we tested. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

We've driven the Camry in both its XLE and SE forms. Both are roomy and comfortable, with the XLE feeling quite luxurious. However, there's a noticeable drop-off in material quality between the entry-level models and the pricier ones, and some of us were unimpressed by dashboard's center section design.

The Camry has a large trunk and plenty of storage space in its cabin, making it competitive in the Sedan category. Toyota have also relocated the battery for the Camry hybrid model so that drivers don't have to sacrifice carrying capacity for fuel efficiency.

The Toyota Camry is known for its simple yet elegant design and is well-recognized for its reliability. With a pocket-friendly price, nearly all models of the Toyota Camry are respectable. However, the 2013 to 2015 models are proven to be most reliable by statistics and user reviews.
